COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT

INAUDITA 2014

 

Application for Yann Robin and Francesco Filidei International Composition Master Class is now open!

10 candidates will be selected, and the compositions they will realize during the master class will be performed in the two festivals Opera Barga e Festival Toscano di Musica Antica by 4 famous ensembles.

Candidates should apply by email (info@ausermusici.org) providing the following materials:

 

  • Personal CV

  • 2 scores (pdf), 2 mp3 recording (or link) of previous works

  • 20 application fee receipt

The payment could be done through paypal from Auser Musici's webiste or by bank transfer (Auser Musici bank account - IBAN IT75J0856214002000010457711- SWIFT BCCFIT33) indicating the reason “Masterclass INAUDITA” and your name and surname.

Application deadline is March 30th.

Candidates should also indicate their preference for the instrumentation they wish to work on during the master class, according to the available ensembles (see below).

The teacher board (composed of the two professors and the artistic directors of each ensemble) will assign an ensemble to each selected participant according to personal writing aesthetics.

By April 2nd a committee will select 10 full students. They will be required to write a new piece (max duration 10 mins) that will be discussed and revised during the master class in Barga (LU, Italy) from June 21st to June 28th. Every piece will be performed according to the following schedule:

  • Festival OperaBarga – Chiostro S. Elisabetta, June 27th and 28th

Contempoensemble

Seven works for fl, cl, vl, vlc (any combination, including solo works)

 

  • INAUDITA Early Music Tuscan Festival, from 29th August to 14th September

Homme Armé

1 work for male vocal quintet: TTBrBrB

AuserMusici

1 work for SSATB + strings: 33111 + winds: 02021 + organ

Confraternita de' musici

1 work for 2 vl, vlc, clav

 

These last three works will be rehearsed in Pisa on the days preceding the Early Music Tuscan Festival. The writing style for these pieces should take into consideration that the performing ensembles will be playing ancient baroque instruments.

Full student tuition fee is 300 , auditor fee is 150 .

Participants suggested accommodation is Casa Cordati, in the historical town centre of Barga, where comfortable double and triple rooms are available at 20 per night per head: www.casacordati.it

Masterclasses will take place in Casa Cordati’s main hall.
